About

Stefanie K. Satterwhite was born and raised in North Texas. She received a degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 and currently works as a UX Designer for one of the largest software companies in the world.

Stefanie moved from Austin to New York City in 2011 where she began her career in digital product design and made her first quilt in 2014. After moving to Oakland in 2015, her passion for quilting blossomed as she began exploring color and movement with traditional-inspired quilt blocks . In 2017 she relocated again, this time to the Seattle area where she currently lives with her partner and daughter. Her recent work is focused on the relationship between color and shapes, triangular abstraction of imagery, and the exploration of radial symmetry.
